You can see how I have allowed the focus of this oil painting to remain on the main focal point – the girl behind the counter. Hoeswver I have used a muted red beret to then direct the viewers eye deeper into the painting. I also use another wonderful tool – a shadow glaze over the areas I wished to push into the background.
