Hi Everyone
We have just announced our site-seeing, painting, photography and wine appreciation tour of Sth Africa, Botswana and Zambia!
'Africa!: An Artist's Wildlife Odyssey'
Fabulous news! Some of you may know that Richard and I have been
asked to host another incredible sight-seeing, painting,
photography and wine appreciation tour. This time we have chosen
Africa! The brochure for our African tour is now available - hot
off the press! It's titled 'Africa: An artist's wildlife
odyssey'. Sounds exciting doesn't it?!
The tour is specifically designed to introduce you to some of the
most amazing places, sights and experiences Africa has to offer.
Not only do we go on safari in incredible wildlife parks, we also
take a walk into Africa's history .... This tour has many unique
features: and it is our pleasure to make this a holiday of a
lifetime for you.
Painting----------
What better way to capture the essence of Africa but in a
watercolour painting? For those who would like my help to capture
the magic of Africa in watercolour, we will have some time in the
last two days while staying at the Royal Livingstone Hotel near the
mighty Victoria Falls. I will guide and inspire as we paint some of
the incredible sights and animals that have captivated us all. We
save this special time for last as this is when you will have your
photographs and memories to choose and select from.
Imagine sitting in this magical place, painting a majestic lion or
elephant in all their splendour. How wonderful to create your own
record of your wildlife odyssey!
These will not be intensive, 'full-on' workshops such as those I
conduct in New Zealand and the US. Instead they will be run in a
more informal atmosphere with the emphasis on painting the animal
world we have just introduced you to. This painting time is for
artists of all skill levels. If you haven't painted before but
would love to try - then this is the time for you too. What better
way of recording your holiday - than in a watercolour painting!
Maybe you would like to keep a journal along the way with small
painted cameos of the essence of the places we visit and the
animals you see. I will be with you there to help you record these
amazing moments. Naturally I will be there with you throughout the
tour so feel free to ask questions about art and painting at any
time at all.
Digital Photography-------------------
Richard will offer a workshop on how to get the most out of your
camera and to take a fabulous record of this incredible country and
its wildlife.
Wine Appreciation------------------
Richard's other passion - apart from me of course! - is wine
appreciation. You will see in the brochure that we will visit the
famous Cape Winelands region centred on Stellenbosch. While here
Richard will share his knowledge about this rich subject. What
better setting!
There is so much to say about the tour and itinerary - I don't know
where to begin. My words can't do justice to what is ahead.
It is all so breathtaking. As I said - around every corner is a
wonderful painting and photograph. United Travel is one of New
Zealand's largest and most professional travel companies. Kay
Rogers owns five of the United Travel offices and she specialises
in arranging exciting and exotic tours. So this is going to be a
unique tour experience and I'm sure it will fill quickly.
You may know Richard has been a tour leader in Europe and we have
both traveled extensively, so this tour is designed for
'life-style'. The itinerary is for those who enjoy a leisurely tour
without rush and bustle. It is about sitting back, relaxing,
exploring, discovering and painting a magical part of Africa in the
company of friends. It is about quality travel but with a twist. It
is for those who would love to experience these special areas in
Africa on a fully escorted and hosted tour. It is for those who
would love to learn more about photography and their camera so they
can record this and many other amazing journeys with confidence.
This tour is also for those who would like to paint in exotic
places or keep a painted journal of a magical tour. Partners are
welcome to join in with the painting or to take up one of the other
many options on offer.
Well now I am even more excited! Writing about this trip really
whets my appetite and I can't wait!
Hope you can join us - that would be so much fun!
