Hello Mary
Thank you for your concern. The earthquake has been very devastating for so many in that region of the South Island. We live in the upper North Island so we did not experience any movement. It is so very sad to see all the devastation. Thankfully there has not been any loss of life despite the magnatude of the quake. It was felt in the very early morning so fortunately most people were asleep and therefore away from the falling buildings and debris in the weakest and oldest areas.

Christchurch is a fantastic and beautiful city. It will be again.
