Original Paintings

Susan enjoys painting in both watercolor and oil:

Watercolors:

Paper:

Arches Hot Pressed 140lb (300gsm) watercolor paper.

Susan’s original paintings are framed using archival and museum quality materials.

Pigment:

Schmincke professional artist’s quality transparent and semi transparent watercolor.

Oil paintings:

Susan paints on stretched fine weave Belgian Linen. She alternates between oil primed and acrylic primed Belgian linen.

Each painting is varnished nine months after completion. Susan current preference for a final varnish is Schmincke Neutral Final Varnish which gives the painting an archival satin finish. This is a professional varnish which can be removed for cleaning if necessary.

Susan uses the following brands of professional artist’s quality oil paints:

Old Holland, Schmincke, Gamblin, Maimeri

Susan’s current choice of medium is Walnut oil and Gamblin Galkyd Lite.

 

Fine Art Limited Edition Reproductions/Prints

Superb quality certified Limited Edition Fine Art prints from some of Susan’s original artwork are available. These are printed on Fine Art Paper  or on Canvas.

Susan’s Giclee reproductions are created using lightfast pigmented inks.

Susan’s Giclee reproductions are created using lightfast pigmented inks. They therefore have excellent longevity when hung in normal ‘office conditions’ they have great longevity. That simply means it is advised that art of any kind is not hung in direct sunlight, reflected sunlight or in situations where heat could effect the item (such as above a fireplace or steamy kitchen/bathroom or in a very hot room).

Simply treat a fine art giclee as you would an original painting.

All prints are offered as strictly Limited Editions.

Susan’s Fine Art reproductions will be signed and numbered on the front and sent in strong and secure mailing tubes.

All reproductions come with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity.

Each numbered reproduction is registered and comes with a guarantee of number exclusivity the SusanArt 100% satisfaction guarantee. See below for returns policy.

 

DVDs

Susan’s dispatch company ships her DVDs to numerous countries around the world. US orders are shipped from Minnesota and therefore can be expected to be delivered to US artists within 3 – 5 working days. Packaged in bubble bags, her DVDs come with a money back guarantee. See below for returns policy. Each DVD is a high quality replication two disc set. Produced by a leading US duplication company Susan guarantees the quality of her product.

 

Workshops

Susan’s workshops are in high demand. They are run on a first in first served basis. Generally Susan’s workshops are fully subscribed soon after announcement. At that stage a waiting list is taken. For a variety of reasons there are occasional spaces that come available so it is not unusual for some of those on the waiting list to be allocated places.

 

Susan’s Exhibitions

Susan exhibitions are usually held every three or four years. They are held over a two day weekend beginning with an invitation-only formal opening function on the Friday night. Due to space restrictions numbers for this formal opening have to be limited to 300 tickets. Information regarding complimentary tickets for this function can be requested through the contact form here.

Demand for Susan’s paintings is high. Her exhibitions are attended by up to 5000 visitors from throughout New Zealand and overseas.

Susan’s paintings are cloaked until the exhibition is formally opened. At which time the paintings are simultaneously unveiled and the first person to remove the painting number will be able to secure that piece. Each painting has a marshal to unveil the painting and to answer any purchasing queries you may have. This is always an exciting and elegant occasion.

Susan’s exhibitions are eagerly awaited. Her goal is to create a beautiful occasion where the memory of the exhibition and the collection of works will remain with those who have attended, long after they have left their presence.

Susan’s exhibitions are open for everyone to attend on the Saturday and Sunday at their leisure. No tickets are required for Saturday or Sunday.

Commissions

Due to time commitments it is rare for Susan to accept a commission but if you have something in particular you are interested in – feel free to contact Susan via her contact form. She would be happy to discuss it with you.

 

Secure Online Ordering

For your security, payment can be made through Susan’s Secure Shopping Cart. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Or if you prefer, feel free to print the order form on your printer and send a personal cheque in any currency.

There are no additional charges to use a bank card or personal cheque.

But please be aware that when your bank card payment is processed by your bank the currency rate at that time will apply. In which case the cost to you may be slightly more or slightly less depending on the exchange rate your bank sets at that time. This of course is something that is out of our hands but the difference is usually just a few cents either way.

 

International Shipping

We ship world-wide and guarantee safe delivery. US orders are shipped from Minnesota and will be delivered within 3 – 5 working days. Orders from other countries will be delivered between  4 – 10 working days under normal circumstances.

 

Packaging, Delivery and Shipping Costs

Susan’s Fine Art reproductions are carefully packaged to ensure you get them in perfect condition. Well chosen, strong but lightweight packaging is used to keep shipping costs minimal. Your order will be replaced at no cost to you if damaged in any way.

Your order will be shipped the following day after the receipt of your payment (excepting weekend and holidays). Allow between 6 – 10 days  for International shipping but it is often less than that.

 

Returns Policy

Susan wants all her customers to be happy with their purchases of her DVDs and Fine Art reproductions.  If for any reason you are not satisfied, Susan will accept the return of your purchase within 7 days of the day your purchase has been delivered.

If the product is faulty in any way, Susan will replace it at no cost to you.

If the product is not faulty but you would like to return it – you will be refunded the full amount of your purchase minus the shipping charge and credit card fees. Simply pack the product in the package as it was received, insure for the purchase price and ship it back to Susan. Please contact Susan prior to returning for authorization.

Susan stands behind the quality of her products and should you have any problem what-so-ever Susan will ensure you are refunded or the product is replaced as mentioned above.

 

Painting Tours

Susan and Richard conduct international tours of like-minded groups interested in visiting stunning places around the world. The main focus is to create fun, no problem, safe, fabulous sight-seeing tours with a small group of ‘friends’. The added bonus of these tours is of course the opportunity to try watercolor painting with Susan at your side to help you capture a fabulous record of your travels. For those who are already adept at painting, Susan is there to extend your skills to help you reach your potential. Whether it be sitting painting in the ancient streets of a characterful Provencal village or capturing the African wildlife in a journal or painting – this is an opportunity for you to enjoy a trip of a life-time.

Partners are most welcome to try their hand at painting too. If you have always wanted to give painting a try – this is your opportunity.

Richard shares his knowledge of how to get the most out of your camera. What better way to record a multitude unforgettable memories – than on your camera with an expert beside you.

Richard also conducts two workshops on red and white wine appreciation for those who would like to extend their knowledge on the grape and wine regions of the world.
